Looking For Low Priced Stocks

A client called me asking what low-priced stocks I liked? She wants to buy a bunch of shares and give them to her granddaughter as a long-term gift. She asked if I liked Ford (F), but I said no. I told her I would have to think about it.

What is your favorite low-priced stock right now? Please send me your responses and let's see what we can come up with together.

My top 2 right now are: Six Flags (SIX) and Level 3 (LVLT)

I'm long SIX as well and have been adding on dips waiting to see how their turnaround plays out. Given their book value there's not much downside IMO. I also like PWAV a small wireless play.

I like U.S. Concrete (RMIX) as a long term play, but it doesn't really make for a good gift, since the grandchild probably won't be able to related too well. Hastings Entertainment (HAST) is a tiny value play, albeit illiquid, that I love. I don't know if there are any nearby. If there are, that could be a great gift stock for a grandchild. From the same viewpoint, I think SIX would be a good gift stock and could help get a child interested in investing, although I don't care for the stock all that much.

Long RMIX and HAST
